MILLION SOLAR ROOFS BILL UPDATE

Last night, the California Assembly Utilities Committee approved the Million Solar Roofs bill (SB 1), moving it forward to the next stage. Unfortunately, there remain several elements of the legislation that need to be fixed so as not to impose undue burdens on the solar industry. Vote Solar will continue to work closely with our friends in solar industry, the environmental community and the bill's authors to see that these issues get addressed before the final bill is sent to Governor Schwarzenegger's desk in August.

SUPPORT THE FEDERAL SOLAR TAX CREDITS

Meanwhile, Congress is considering an $18 billion energy bill that heavily favors polluting fossil fuels over renewable energy. Please take a stand today in support of renewable energy by supporting the 30% federal solar tax credit proposed in the Senate version of the bill. A national 30% solar tax credit would be the most significant federal solar legislation in 25 years. Coupled with state solar programs in California and elsewhere, this measure can be the key to helping America reclaim a leadership role in the world's growing solar industry.
