North China to Build First Garbage Power Plant

Tianjin Electronic Power Construction Company recently accomplished construction of three furnaces and two generating sets, a sign that the first garbage power plant has been completed in Northern China.

The garbage power plant, with a total investment of over CNY 500 million, lies at Shuanggang Town, Jinnan District, Tianjin,and covers an area of 5.98 hectares.

The plant, with a daily household garbage handling capacity of 1,200 tons, could help to save 48,000 tons of standard coal every year. If it runs continuously, the yearly garbage handingcapacity will hit 400,000 tons.

Moreover, the garbage power plant was designed by Beijing National NC Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd., which introduced the world's most advanced burning technology from TAKU-MA of Japan.

The construction of the garbage power plant has been praised asscience and technology sample work by the Ministry of Construction and key project by Tianjin Government.
