When the availability and prices of PV modules become
suppressed, who will be the main manufacturers and where will they be located?
The total number of PV
module manufacturers worldwide has already passed over the 180

The rapidly growing number of Chinese companies actively promoting their module
manufacturing capabilities comes as no surprise. However, their production
capacity remains quite small when compared to the top-10 of global manufacturers
and the domestic market is also relatively modest. That said, the Chinese are
ambitious and they enjoy a number of benefits (such as cheap highly qualified
labor). It is inevitable that Chinese modules will find their way on to the
global markets including the European.
The Chinese growth miracle of course also offers interesting potential for new
