ConocoPhillips pays fine for problem at haz waste facility
 
Oct. 6 -- ConocoPhillips will pay $22,500 to settle groundwater monitoring violations at its Carson, Calif., hazardous waste facility.

The company reached an agreement with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. Under the terms of the consent order, ConocoPhillips will pay the agency $22,500, which includes reimbursement of costs and an administrative penalty.

The Carson site is a permitted hazardous waste facility that conducts groundwater monitoring and remedial activities at a closed ConocoPhillips unit. The company also has corrected all the violations.
