Flood waters recede from Henry Hub's main complex, company says

Houston (Platts)--30Sep2005
Sabine Pipe Line late Thursday completed draining water from the main
complex of the Henry Hub in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, and is continuing the
process in surrounding areas, a company spokesman said Friday.
"We have the main complex that houses most of the buildings and some
pipelines dewatered, but the rest of the Henry Hub complex is still under
water," Sabine spokesman Mickey Driver said. "We continue to wait for the
water to recede there." Henry Hub, along with much of the parish, sustained
heavy flooding from Hurricane Rita.
On Thursday, Entergy, which powers the Henry Hub, was unable to energize
the electric substations that supply the Hub because of flood waters in the
stations, an Entergy spokeswoman said. No timetable was given on when
the substations would be dewatered and power restored to the Henry Hub.
In a notice posted on Sabine's Web site Friday, the company said force
majeure continues in effect at all points on the Sabine System until further
notice.
The notice added that Sabine personnel are working to place and connect
temporary generators for areas without power and to establish a "reliable
communication system."
In addition, the company said damage repairs are underway at the Port
Neches compressor station.
