LONDON - A small coastal oil tanker carrying 4,000 tonnes of gas oil has run aground at Holyhead on the island of Anglesey in north Wales, the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) said on Tuesday.

The coastguard said the tanker, which was also carrying 167 tonnes of diesel fuel, went aground at Holyhead harbour.

The agency said the crew reported no damage to the hull of the vessel or cargo leakage.

The MCA said pollution response teams were on standby.
