Indonesia is cooperating with a number of developed countries, in particular the United States, to prevent terrorist acts and threats involving the use of nuclear power.

"Indonesia can benefit from this cooperation," said the head of the National Nuclear Energy Supervisory Board, Prof Azhar Djalois, at the information session on nuclear energy legislation regulation for the Balinese provincial government in Denpasar on Wednesday [7 July].

He said that the benefits that Indonesia could gain included technology transfer, and improvements in human resources, in oversight of the use of nuclear energy. [Passage omitted]
