Shell Expands Reaches in China's Solar Energy Market

Royal Dutch/Shell Group (Shell Group) will expand its solar energy market share in China.

Shell (China) limited, Shell Group's subsidiary in China, announced that the company would increase its investment in China's new energy industry.

On June 1, Shell (China) Limited established a solar energy project in a rural village in Yunnan Province and residents there used electric power for the first time in their lives. Byfar, Shell Group has brought electric power to 26 rural villages in Yunnan Province and Xinjiang Autonomous Region in China.

China's government implemented a nationwide lighting project to bring electric power to all rural villages and Shell Group participated in the project. Through the project, Shell Group has become a front-runner in new energy market in the country.
