Iran reports on power generation capacity

Iran’s power generation capacity rose by about 53 % in seven years following construction of power plants with the capacity to produce 12,130 MW of power.
Deputy Energy Minister Reza Amrollahi said that average electricity consumption in Iran rose by 7.5 % in 10 years, 1.5 % higher that the target set by the Third Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2000-05).

Amrollahi said 100 % of urban population and 94 % of villagers benefit from electricity in Iran.
