In this way, Phase Change Materials (PCM), through the phase transformations (solid -liquid – solid), similar to candle wax, can save and redeliver far more heat than other materials.

The transparent thermal insulation is structured similarly to the fur and and skin of a polar bear and can cool in the summer and save heat in the winter.

According to the “Vacuum Coffee Principle”, by using vacuum insulation, only four to five centimetres of width can insulate ten times better than a half meter of conventional insulation materials.

Synthetic bio, or BTL (biomass to liquid) fuels, introduce a brand new generation of biofuel.

The production of BTL fuellends itself to a full array of different herbal materials, from fast-growing forest species such as poplars and willows to waste materials, for example straw, wood remains, and bio-litter.

Preliminary estimations suggest that BTL fuel meets the needs of up to 40% of all fuel requirements through biomass Europe-wide.

The BTL information platform (German) should contribute substantially to the knowledge exchange between players that were brought into being from the Federal Minister of Consumer Affairs (german), Renate Künast.
