US Gulf shut-ins Wednesday 471,328 b/d oil, 1.706 Bcf/d gas: MMS

Shut-ins in the US Gulf of Mexico as of Wednesday stood at 471,328 b/d of
crude oil and 1.706 Bcf/d of natural gas, the Minerals Management Service
reported. The shut-ins in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan represented about
27.73% of usual oil output of 1.7-mil b/d and 13.87% of normal gas output of
12.3 Bcf/d. Cumulatively, crude oil shut-ins amounted to some 19.4-mil bbl,
representing 3.205% of yearly output of 605-mil bbl, while gas shut-ins
reached 82.62 Bcf, about 1.857% of yearly production of 4.45 Tcf, MMS said.
