Washington (Platts)--23Sep2004

U.S. nuclear generation is on its way to a record year, DOE reported today.
"[C]umulative nuclear generation in 2004 remains higher [as of July] than in
either the comparable period of 2003 or in the record year, 2002," DOE's
Energy Information Administration (EIA) said. U.S. nuclear electricity
generation from January through July 2004 totaled 461,774,051 megawatt-hours
(MWH), compared with 442,897,264 MWH for the same period in 2003, EIA said.
The report, "Monthly Nuclear Generation by Reactor, By State," is available on
EIA's Web site at http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/whatsnew/newwhatsnew.cfm.
