Over 20 Big Projects Are Being Prepared in the Czech Republic

Czech Venti (CV) (Chomutov, Czech Republic), involved in the building of wind-power plants, wants to build a wind-power park with 180 towers in the region Chomutov by the end of 2006. This is the largest project of wind-power plants, which is being realized in the Czech Republic. CV is a joint-venture of Proventi (Czech Republic) and the UK investor group Virtual Utility. In the Czech Republic, a total of over 20 projects of wind-power plants is being prepared in 2004. Austria plans to invest nearly CEK 3 bil in wind-power parks in South Moravia. The recoverability of investments in these power stations is 7-14 years. According to the calculation of investors, the revenue from electric power production from one wind-power station is CEK 4.5-9.0 mil per year. Wind-power plants supply about 10 MW of electric power per year to the network in 2004. In the Czech Republic, there is a potential for nearly 1,000 wind-power plants with an average output of 1.5 MW.
