Uni-Solar Receives Order for 2.4 MW of Thin-Film

Auburn Hills, MI - May 25 [SolarAccess.com] United Solar Ovonic announced the shipment of 500 kW of its flexible thin-film solar photovoltaic producst to Solar Integrated Technologies (SIT), a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of integrated flexible photovoltaic roofing systems for commercial and industrial buildings.

The shipment is part of the first 2.4 MW order placed by SIT since it signed an expanded strategic supply agreement with Uni-Solar in April. Under the terms of the agreement, SIT is expected to purchase more than 5 MW of Uni-Solar's PV in 2004, amounting to nearly 20% of Uni-Solar's annual production capacity.

SIT is currently providing the Uni-Solar Ovonic product for customers, including Coca Cola and the San Diego City Schools.

Stan Ovshinsky, Chairman and CEO of Uni-Solar and President and CTO of ECD Ovonics said his company's flexible thin-film solar cells are ideally suited for building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV).

SIT recently completed a public offering on London's AIM Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SIT. Through the offering, SIT raised 12.3 million pounds Sterling (approximately $22 million) to provide working capital and to expand operations in the U.S. and Europe.
