When
the renowned Hannover Fair opened its doors on Monday, Hydro was among the
exhibitors - for the tenth year in a row. Hydro presented new technology
for its hydrogen plants and new energy solutions.
At the Hannover Fair, the company Norsk
Hydro Electrolysers AS, fully owned by Hydro, presented new technologies
for electrolysers and display a model of an atmospheric electrolyser.
Exciting new energy projects Among the new energy projects to be
presented at the fair, was the HyNor-Grenland project, a new hydrogen
station utilizing surplus hydrogen from Hydro's nearby petrochemical
plant. The Hydro stand also included a presentation of HyWind, a
revolutionary concept for floating windmills. Hydro has a tradition for developing
ground breaking technologies and projects. In 2004, Hydro won the
prestigious Platts Global Energy Award for the Renewables Project of the
Year with its unique wind-powered hydrogen society on the remote island of
Utsira. In 2003, Hydro presented its activities in the Icelandic New
energy project on hydrogen.
“We hope to repeat last year’s success. This major trade fair gives us an excellent opportunity to present our products and extend our customer contact, which we hope will result in increased sales,” says Hilde Henriksen Kaasa, Project Manager for Hydro Electrolysers at the Hannover Fair. Hydro has supplied more than 500
complete electrolyser plants for hydrogen production throughout the world.
The majority of the plants have been delivered to industrial users, but
the company has also delivered plants to vehicle refuelling stations in
Berlin, Hamburg and Reykjavik - and to the celebrated Utsira wind-hydrogen
project. |
