Portland, Maine (Platts)--11Apr2007

Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons has formed an advisory committee to develop a
plan that will allow the state to cut its greenhouse gas emissions.

In signing an executive order Tuesday creating the Nevada Climate Change
Advisory Committee, the Republican said he is he is "looking forward to Nevada
joining the world in its quest to reduce greenhouse gas emissions."

Gibbons named 13 members to the panel, which includes state officials,
environmental representatives and Michael Yackira, president and CEO of Sierra
Pacific Resources, a Reno, Nevada-based utility company.

The committee will begin by documenting steps currently underway to
reduce greenhouse gases and will provide options the state can take to cut GHG
emissions.
