US EIA to begin monthly ethanol, biofuel surveys: Caruso

Washington (Platts)--28Mar2007

The US Energy Information Administration plans this year to begin
development of monthly ethanol and biofuels data surveys to reflect the
growing importance of the fuels in the market, EIA administrator Guy Caruso
said Wednesday.

EIA is also planning a redesign of "key oil and gas surveys" to capture
evolving market conditions, Caruso said at an EIA energy modeling conference.

EIA will continue two petroleum marketing surveys that had been slated
for elimination last year, Caruso added. Additional funds from Congress
allowed EIA to maintain its Foreign Oil Acquisition Report and its Domestic
Crude First Purchase Report, he said.
