Iran: Embassy Closures Mark Dangerous New Level of Isolation
December 1, 2011
This week’s breakdown in Iran’s diplomatic relations
with the UK and other European states reflects
desperation by the Iranian regime over its increasing
isolation and could lead the regime to step up its
support of terrorism and to an acceleration of its
development of a nuclear weapons program. If Iran’s
isolation lasts a year or more, it may lead Tehran to
consider conducting a nuclear test, which could lead to
a preemptive strike by Israel.
