Report: Core, fuel damage of Fukushima units may have started day of disasters

A report from the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) said the damage to the cores and fuel of Units 1, 2 and 3 at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant may have occurred the day the earthquake and tsunami hit in March.

The report, "Special Report on the Nuclear Accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station," gives a narrative and overview of the power plant before, during and after the disasters.
