If there's one thing we planners don't like, it's change

 

 

How much of a planner I am. Well, if there's one thing we planners don't like, it's change. Although, come to think of it, how many people really like change?

People don't like change because it has a tendency to upset things that are comfortable. It's easy to get caught in our routines, no longer thinking about what we are doing or why we are doing it. It's easy to get complacent, but that doesn't make it right.

What are your priorities? Taking the best possible care of your family? Living simply and honestly? Glorifying God in all you do? Now here's the real question: Are you keeping the number one things the number one things?

If we answer honestly, I imagine that many of us would have to say no. And that's where change comes in. It may not be easy or painless; as C.S. Lewis said, "It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad." So what changes do you need to make in your life to start achieving your goals and demonstrating your priorities? How do you start today? ...
