Republic Services investing in single-stream recycling




Sept. 30 -- Republic Services Inc. is spending $20 million to upgrade a single-stream recycling facility in Southern California.

The Phoenix-based solid waste management company is modernizing its CVT material recovery facility in Anaheim, which serves municipalities throughout Southern California, the company said.

"The advanced technology will play a critical role in the management of solid waste and recyclables in Southern California," said Jim Ambroso, area president, in a statement.

The site´s new system will increase capacity from 20 to 50 tons per hour, the company said.

CVT is permitted to process 6,000 tons per day and is located on a 35-acre site along with company hauling divisions, Republic Services said.
